Movember and Prostate Cancer: What you Need to Know

Written by on November 21, 2011 in Man Guide - No comments

You've probably noticed some of your friends and co-workers growing out their facial hair this November in what appears to be one of the most questionable grooming decisions of their lives. Or maybe it's just that guy on the bus that you've never actually spoken to but lately seems to be sporting this awful looking lampshade underneath his nose. Well, as it turns, these people aren't just growing the stache for sake of the stache... they're fighting cancer in a movement cleverly titled Movember.

Movember began in Australia in 2003 to increase the public’s awareness of prostate cancer, and since then, over a million people have taken part in this fall phenomenon. As I type this, thousands of men across the country are embarrassing themselves (or in some cases, enhancing their appearance) for a worthy cause.

So just in case you wanted a little further edification on Movember, prostate cancer or  some fine looking mustache options check out this infographic (via sortable.com). If you're feeling inspired or generous after giving it a look then head on over to movember.com and make a donation today. It's definitely not too late to get involved and every bit helps!
