The Kindle Fire is Amazon's intro to the world of tablet computers. Or is really an eReader on steroids? Either way, with a powerful dual core processor, a chemically strengthened 7 inch color touchscreen and web browsing via Amazon Silk you'll be able to take full advantage of the 100,000 movies and TV shows from Amazon Instant Video, 17,000,000 songs from Amazon MP3 and over 1,000,000 Kindle books. Yeah, that ought to keep you busy.
Why it's cool: In terms of raw specs the Kindle Fire isn't quite on the same level as the iPad and the fact that there's no microphone, camera or 3G on board does hurt it's versatility. However, the price point is a bargain and if you're a fan of Amazon's multitude of streaming media or in the market for a new tablet but don't want to shell out $500 then you're going to love what the Fire has to offer.
